How to be a "Diva"....
1~ Do not get hammered the night before your wedding or shoot/event ladies, please know your limit. Remember, that even the most talented makeup artists cannot make you look well rested and fabulous when you're nursing a hangover.
2~ Don't forget to wear deodorant and brush your teeth... I know it sounds really silly to say but "the big day" is such a crazy fiasco that you will be surprised how the simplest of tasks seem to get away from you!
3~ Keep your hands off of your face! Do not go to town picking at yourself the night before your wedding because you are nervous... the less you touch your face, the better for the makeup artist to work their magic on you!
4~ Whiten your teeth... No matter how white you may think they are I cannot tell you how many brides wish on their wedding day that they would have whitening in advance. A bright smile on your day makes you all the more beautiful!!
5~ Put some color on those lips... Do not just wear a gloss, in your photos you will looked washed out. Even if it is a slight nude liner and some coral/ nude lip gloss it will look better than just chap stick or clear gloss.
6~ Hair is a tricky thing... Most women on their wedding day go for a completely un-natural slicked back up-do and HATE IT when they see their pictures!! Do not make the same mistake, go for what looks good on you... the more you stick to the natural you the happier you will be. Remember you want your husband to recognize you. ; )
7~ Attention all Brides, Bridesmaids, Models, etc... Do not bake yourself in the tanning bed and expect beautiful glowing skin when you look like a lobster... NOT possible. Same goes for spray tanning... be careful to do this a few days in advance and do not go too dark.
8~ A lot of time and detail went into choosing your dress, ring, flowers, and even your hairstyle. Don't let your makeup take a backseat. Take the time to go through magazines and pull out makeup styles that you really like, even tear out the ones you really hate. It could be how a certain feature is played up, or that great lipstick color, or how the skin glows, or even how they used way too much eyeliner. All this is easy to say and show to a makeup artist, like me, with pictures. It helps tremendously to show your desires by pictures rather than endlessly describing it. This helps me immensely in seeing what you like and don't like. Remember, our mental ideas of pink lipstick could be completely different. There is a lot of truth in the adage that says "a picture is worth a thousand words". It really gives a lot more information with a visual sense.
9~ To save some wear and tear on your nerves on that big day, by all means, schedule a consultation, or even better, a complete makeup application before the big day with your makeup artist. Plan it for the rehearsal dinner, or a special evening out alone with your groom, or a get together with all the bridesmaids. Don't overlook this very important step because this way you can see if you like your makeup artist's style.
10~ Remember, your makeup run-through is the time to play, try different ideas, colors, etc. Don't be afraid to say you don't like something. Makeup is easy to take off and reapply.
Most important of all... HAVE FUN! Nothing is more important than feeling your very best (it is true that if you look good you feel good) and I look forward to helping you accomplish just that!!
Best wishes to you!!
Ciao Bella!
